ARTICLE 1: NAME

The name of this organization shall be City of Phoenix Employees for Christ (hereafter referred to as COPEFC).

ARTICLE 2: STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
COPEFC is a network of City employees sharing a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. COPEFC was initiated by City employees for City employees and is not affiliated with any particular church or denomination.  Our purpose is to fulfill the Great Commandment (Mark 12:30-31) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) by supporting and encouraging Christian employees in the workplace and ministering to the needs of all City employees.

ARTICLE 3: ACTIVITIES
COPEFC provides opportunities for Christian employees to come together in the workplace during the work week.  In addition, special events are held on an as scheduled basis.  All interested City of Phoenix employees are welcome to attend COPEFC activities.

ARTICLE 4: STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe there is one God eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe the Bible is God’s written revelation to man and is verbally inspired, authoritative, and without error in the original manuscripts.

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross to provide for our redemption, bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven, present ministry of intercession for us, and His return to earth in power and glory.

We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit who performs the miracle of new birth in an unbeliever and indwells believers, empowering them to live godly lives.

We believe man, both male and female, was created in the image of God, but because of sin, was alienated from God.  Only through faith, trusting in Christ alone for salvation made possible by His death and resurrection, can that alienation be removed.  Adherence to this article shall not be required for participation in COPEFC activities.

 

ARTICLE 5: EXECUTIVE BOARD

COPEFC activities shall be coordinated and administered by a seven-member Executive Board.  All Executive Board members shall have one vote.

 

ARTICLE 6: BOARD MEMBERSHIP

Any City employee adhering to the articles contained in this constitution and bylaws shall be eligible to serve n the Executive Board.  A member may serve as long as he or she remains a City employee.  A member may be removed by a majority vote of the Executive Board if he or she fails to attend three consecutive meetings.  Any vacancy on the Executive Board shall be filled by a majority vote of the Executive Board.

 

ARTICLE 7: BOARD OFFICERS

A Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the Executive Board shall be elected from among its members by a majority vote in January of each year or at the next meeting following a vacancy in either office.  The Chairperson shall preside at all meetings of the Executive Board.  In the absence of the Chairperson, the Vice Chairperson shall preside.

 

ARTICLE 8: BOARD MEETINGS

The Executive Board shall meet on a monthly basis.  Special meetings may be called by the Chairperson or a majority of the Executive Board as necessary to conduct organizational business.

 

ARTICLE 9: AMENDMENTS

This constitution and bylaws may be amended or repealed by at least five members of the Executive Board at a regularly scheduled meeting.  Such amendments must be proposed in writing by a member and signed by at least two other members.  A copy of the proposed amendment shall be provided to each member at least 30 days in advance of a vote of the amendment.

 

ARTICLE 10: ADOPTION

This constitution and bylaws shall be in full force and effect from and after its approval by a majority of the Executive Board at a regularly scheduled meeting.
