GUARD the DEPOSIT

 

“Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you.”                  ~ 2 Timothy 1:13-14

 

Just as Timothy was faced and challenged with the ongoing issues of his time, we are no different. Apostle Paul instructs Timothy to; "follow his PATTERN and GUARD the good DEPOSIT entrusted to him. Paul's concern was not for himself, but for Timothy and the forth going of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

"Pattern" the lives (of those that have gone before us and those that are depositing into us) and "Sound Words" that we have heard in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. To GUARD what has been entrusted to us!

Take inventory of what has been entrusted to you, marriage, children, family and job... "What we deposit into, will determine the payback that you will receive with interest."

​

God has made a deposit into each of us, through the word of God. He has made it clear, we have been sealed (2 Cor. 1:22) and a guaranteed deposit into our inheritance (Eph. 1:13-14).

​

Here are two instructive reminders that we can follow moving forward.

1.   Follow the pattern - (v.13) - As children mimicking their parents pattern, who mimic their Heavenly Father.

2.   Guard the Deposit - (v.14) - That our Heavenly Father has deposited into each of us.
